A Letter from the Second Grade Teachers

Welcome to Second Grade!
We would like to take the time to inform you of a few of our procedures.
The lunch money will be collected in the morning and sent to the office along with the daily attendance.  Please send the money in an envelope with the name of your child as well as the amount included.  The cafeteria will do the rest!
Our school has an updated security system in place.  With the exception of the student's arrival, the building will be locked at all times.  When you need to pick up your child before normal dismissal, please remember you must send in a note to confirm your child's early dismissal.  You will need to come to the door closest to the office.  One the left hand side of the window is a "door bell" that must be pressed.  This is connected to the office.  They will talk to you through the intercom and then give you clearance to enter the building.  Once you have entered, your child will be called to the office.  You are not to go to the room.  If you need to go to your child's room, you must obtain a "visitor's pass" badge from the office.  No visitor is permitted in the halls without this.  Thank you for your understanding and patience.  Safety is a major priority with all of us.
We provide your child with pencils, paper, crayons, and scissors.  Please make sure your child puts his/her name on any other articles brought in from home.  This applies to items such as lunch boxes, back packs, coats, or any personal articles.
Many very important papers will be coming home.  Please take a few minutes to go through every paper.  These will be placed in our yellow folder.  Some will need to be filled out and returned, others are for your information.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
Second Grade Teachers
