An Open House at the Elementary School will be held annually during the first few weeks of school. Teachers will be available to explain programs and materials. Parent Conferences will be held two times per year; usually at the end of the first and third nine week periods.
A donation not to exceed
$1.00 is solicited from the children to cover the cost of parties. Parties
are usually held just prior to the holiday.
Primary Parties - Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter
Intermediate Parties - Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day
Student activities, special events, assemblies, and programs take place throughout the elementary school year. Many of these are photographed or video taped for local publicity news releases. Photographs of the elementary students may be in the news releases. Parents who do not wish to have their child's photo released for news publication must notify the elementary office in writing.
Excusal from participation in physical education on a temporary or permanent basis must be accompanied by a physician's letter.
Rough playing will not be tolerated on the playground at any time. Students placing themselves or others in danger of injury may lose playground privileges.
Report cards are used to report a child's progress to his parents. Report cards are issued at the end of each nine weeks.
Parents are expected to sign the report card and return it to the child's homeroom teacher.
When a child is home ill, parents will many times call the main office for homework or missed assignments. If you have such a request, please call before 10:00 a.m. This allows the teachers sufficient time to prepare the assignments.
For your child's safety and a more efficient operation of our school, please observe the following rules:
Children walking or being driven to school are not to arrive before 7:40 a.m. No child will be considered tardy until after 7:50 a.m.
If children on occasion must arrive before 8:00, special permission must be secured from the elementary principal before they are permitted to enter the building. Parents are thereby notified that students who arrive before 7:40, and who do not have special permission, will not be permitted to enter the building and school personnel will not be responsible for the safety of these children. Children who arrive by bus may enter the building upon arrival and must wait in the designated areas until the bell rings. At that time, they report to their homerooms or to the cafeteria fro breakfast.
Grades Kindergarten - 5th - 7:50 A.M. - 2:20 P.M.
NO STUDENTS are permitted to be dropped off at the elementary school prior to 7:40 am, without written notice from the elementary office.

School Insurance is made available through a private agency during the month of September. The agreement is strictly between the parent and the agency. The school simply facilitate the dissemination and collection of forms.
School pictures are taken usually in September and arrive by mid-October. Additional prints are available by filling out a form that is provided in the packet.
