Teachers are not available to receive telephone calls during school hours, except in an emergency. Messages will be taken and delivered to the teachers. Teachers should be called only before or after school or after student dismissal at 2:20.
Pupils are not to use the school phone, except in emergencies. They should get permission before leaving home to take part in or attend after school activities, so that calling home is not necessary.
The elementary school recognizes the danger that terroristic threats and acts by students presents to the health, safety, security, and welfare of other students, staff and community. The school district realizes the need for an immediate and effective response to a situation involving such a threat or act. The School Board prohibits any district student from communicating terroristic threats or committing terroristic acts directed at any student, employee, Board member, community member or school building.
Terroristic threat - shall mean a threat to commit violence communicated with the intent to terrorize another, to cause evacuation of a building, or to cause, serious public inconvenience, in reckless disregard to the risk of causing such terror in inconvenience. Terroristic act - shall mean an offense against property or involving danger to another person.
