STUDENT GUIDELINES

No society, community or school can operate without rules and regulations.  Individuals differ in their abilities and willingness to accept responsibility.

As a student of the Ridgway Middle/High School, you are responsible for your actions while meeting your academic requirements.  The school has the right in individual cases to revoke the privileges made available to you.  You are expected to come to school every day on time, to learn, and to work.  You are also expected to behave respectfully towards people of all ages, races, ethnic groups, religion, and both sexes.  Each of us should strive to extend common courtesy in the form of cooperation, assistance, and congenial conversation and replies within our entire school community which includes students, faculty, and especially visitors.

All students have an obligation to exhibit honesty and to respect ethical standards in carrying out their academic assignments.  The reason you come to school is to learn.  Every student has the opportunity to learn, and it is your responsibility to be accountable for what you do while you attend the Ridgway Middle/High School.

The Ridgway School District has invested considerable expense to provide our students and faculty with the latest modern technology in labs and classrooms.  Attention and care must be taken to insure the longevity of these items.  The Ridgway Middle/High School is your school.  Take pride and responsibility in keeping its buildings, grounds, and equipment beautiful.

If you meet your obligations both in and out of the classroom, you will have an enjoyable educational experience while attending the Ridgway Middle/High School. Taking part in athletic programs as a participant or observer, participating in established club programs, taking part in other student activities (prom, homecoming, etc.), and being a part of the student activities program help enhance the total school experience.
