Staying Connected With Your Teen Signs of Suicide (SOS)
The Incredible Years

A workshop series called Families That Care: STAYING CONNECTED WITH YOUR TEEN, a program from Channing Bete Company, Inc., is being offered by DMHC Community-Based Children’s Services.  This program is offered at NO COST for participants.  These interactive workshops will help give families the skills to work together and take action now to help protect teens from the risk of substance abuse, delinquency, and violence.

Research shows that parents of teenagers can have a strong positive influence in ensuring that their children develop into healthy adults.

The STAYING CONNECTED WITH YOUR TEEN workshops bring parents together to learn and practice skills for improving communication and building stronger bonds- skills that can help teens avoid the risks of drug abuse, violence, and other problems.  The workshops use an interactive, skills-based format that provides plenty of opportunity for parents to learn from each other.

As teens gradually gain more independence, the decisions they make set the foundation for their successes in life.  This program helps families promote the skills teens need to make important decisions that are best for their health and their future.

The next workshop will be Wednesday, September 12, 19, 26, October 3, 10 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at the Community Education Council (CEC) Building in St. Marys.
